RETURN UNTO THY REST, O MY SOUL;

“FOR THE LORD HATH DEALT BOUNTIFULLY WITH THEE.” If you think about this statement the “O my soul,”part is striking. Something more formative  than our own earthly soul is calling to put our soul to rest. It has been said each of us has our own individual and unique Lord that actually bountifully animates us! Remember also that the Lord that  animates our soul is a Lord of the LORD of Lords. As we consider the Oneness of God let us know there is something so solid, so real, so constant that the awareness of ourselves may come to rest in. This verse opens a door to the knowing of a greater peace in our temporal soul as well as the greater action of the working of God through us as we position ourselves to  listen and attend to the callings of our Lord of the LORD.  As we do so we may find that we are at rest in acting accordingly. May we know the following:  RETURN UNTO THY REST AND THY ACTION,  O MY SOUL.

I WILL BE GLAD IN THE LORD.

As I consider this verse the words I am glad in the Lord come to mind. As I turn my mind to realize what it means to be glad in the Lord it opens a doorway into the experience of being in the presence of the Lord. Here there is peace and perspective. Here there is understanding and largeness. Here there is joy. Let’s continue to open to know increasingly what it means to be glad in the Lord.

I WILL WALK WITHIN MY HOUSE WITH A PERFECT HEART.

A perfect heart is a consideration that touches my heart. As I think about this I am moved to simply still my heart and mind. I am moved to come to rest in this moment that I may know more what this actually means. I find this is something that cannot be forced. As I pause in this way  my soul is filled with what it means to have a perfect heart. I can feel a deep sense of gratefulness. Here I am in awe of allowing a perfect heart be set within my soul. Here I realize more what it means to walk within my house with a perfect heart. May my meditations open up your heart in knowing a deep sense of peace and gratefulness also.

HOLINESS BECOMETH THINE HOUSE

Going inside the spirit of these words leads us to the sacred silence that fills our soul with complete peace. As we do, our soul becomes a house that is whole and true. How this is done is by daily practice. Our house becomes whole over time. When we take note of the times when we have not been whole because of our response to the things of this world it serves to provide a correction. As we correct our responsive attention to that which brings wholeness it serves to continue to build a firm foundation for sustained true expression. As we make the corrections in love for the soul that we have rather than being mad at ourselves it also serves to move us forward. Holiness becometh our house as we continue to orient to the place that fills us with peace and oneness.

…AND THEY THAT LOVE HIS NAME SHALL DWELL THEREIN. #2

I find this verse to be a heart catcher especially. I do notice I had talked about this verse last week. When I read it again in my considerations of the psalms I was again struck by the nature of its spirit. AND THEY THAT LOVE HIS NAME SHALL DWELL THEREIN. In considering these words I find myself entering into a spirit that is settling and very peaceful. A spirit that puts everything in perspective especially the things that may have been a challenge for us to handle. As we enter into this spirit the things we may have found ourselves reacting to or engendering the feelings of anger, demand and fear are dissipated. To acknowledge the gift of spirit that these words bring I find are worth repeating and considering. May we continue to wax strong in grace in stature as we abide in this love.

…AND THEY THAT LOVE HIS NAME SHALL DWELL THEREIN

And they that love his name shall dwell therein. I find just the thought of loving his name brings a dwelling place in experience that sets all things right. When the thoughts of this world come knocking on our door characterized by contempt, criticism and fear it is vital to recognize them. As we do recognize the unkind and unsettling thoughts that are looking to find a dwelling place within us we are reminded to love his name. As we do receive this gift of  awareness and actually turn to love his name we find that we are back in our natural place of dwelling. In this natural place there comes the experience of peace and soundness and again perspective. No matter how things in the world appear it is also vital that there be some that abide in this place. For it is us that acknowledge this need true need that this world may eventually find its resting place in loving His Name.

MY KING IN THE SANCTUARY

Consider these words and know the presence of our King. Know the peace of His presence and begin to touch into His power. Know the fertile quietness. As we do increasingly acknowledge  the beauty and wonder of the presence of the King in the sanctuary we find ourselves also in the sanctuary. Here is our communion in spirit and our communion in love. Here is the gift of knowing what is true in spirit, mind and body. Give thanks and continue to know.

O GOD, THOU ART MY GOD; EARLY WILL I SEEK THEE

Early will I seek Thee. These are good words to ponder. What does it mean to seek early? Seeking early relates to putting first things first. God really is the source of our animation that causes any of our feelings and any of our thoughts even to be. When we do not put emphasis first on that which is of God we will find our thoughts jumbled and our feelings disturbed. Putting emphasis first on the things of God does relate to putting first attitudes of thankfulness, understanding and even forgiveness. As we align ourselves accordingly we will be early in seeking the Lord and consequently the Lord can then find us in providing what is needed in every moment our living. A former boss of mine would tell us that “if we are not early we are late.” Being early does prevent the need to nervously play catch up during our days as well as putting us in the rhythm that makes for grace and peace.

THE FEAR OF THE LORD IS CLEAN, ENDURING FOREVER

Fear in reference to the Lord can be viewed as honor and reverence. As we honor and revere the Lord in our highest sensing we can know the clean freshness of being with the Lord. This is our choice. If instead we default to bowing down before the void described as the prince of this world we will consequently know a muddy and putrid experience that no shower can ever clean. Bowing down to being depressed or discouraged by what is lacking in our worlds is sign we are defaulting. Giving thanks for what is present in our lives is lifting up our heads and giving honor and reverence to that which encourages and blesses. Again the choice is ours.

O LORD OUR LORD, HOW EXCELLENT IS THY NAME IN ALL THE EARTH

Excellence springs from the core of all things. When this core is acknowledged excellence is found and honored. As this is done our hearts rightly give thanks and praise and our minds our gifted with peace and control. Continue in your days recognizing this truth and soon the excellence of acknowledging  the Lord will gift you with treasures beyond belief.
