THEY CALLED UPON THE LORD AND HE ANSWERED THEM

What does it mean to call upon the LORD. Calling upon the LORD  is putting yourself in position to receive the LORD. This relates to having a calm and untroubled heart and open and uncluttered mind. How we unclutter our minds is by putting first things first. As we put the LORD’s influence first in our life this allows our minds to become uncluttered and open in the direction of receiving that which the LORD would give us. Calling upon the LORD is putting  ourselves in the right frame of heart and mind. As we do so the LORD provides the answer to what our lives are to be about in every given moment.

LET THE EARTH BE GLAD PSLAM 96

Let the earth be glad relates to letting our heart and minds be glad. As our minds and hearts receive the gladness of what is true and real our body’s are invigorated with life. What is real and true relates to an orientation to that which animates all the living world.

O WORSHIP THE LORD IN THE BEAUTY OF HOLINESS: FEAR BEFORE HIM, ALL THE EARTH. PSALM 96

In the beauty of holiness are such beautiful words. In thinking of the words fear before him it is good to remember that fear relates to awe and reverence. Fear before him does not mean being afraid of the Lord it means reverence before him. All the earth can relate to ourselves. All the earth of ourselves. All of our heart, mind and body in reverence before him brings the experience of the beauty of holiness something pure and real. Let’s remember in our living to revere the Lord with all which gifts us with something that is pure and whole, sound and real.

LET THE FIELD BE JOYFUL Psalm 96

We have a choice to let the field of what emanates from us to be joyful or not. It is our choice to choose to live with attitudes of thankfulness and gratefulness and patience to let our mental and emotional fields come alive with the joy of love.

GLADNESS FOR THE UPRIGHT IN HEART

As we are upright in heart we are gifted with gladness. Being upright in heart relates to feeling grateful for the gift of life that we have. Being upright in heart relates to facing adversity with uprightness. The old adage chin up does apply here. No matter what we may be facing that may seem challenging to us if we remember to remain upright in heart we we feel a sense of gladness. Gladness for the opportunity at hand to be true to the Lord and for the  opportunity to let the Lord’s influence have its expression on earth though us. Really what more could we be glad for. For the opportunity to so serve the Lord is our commission that is what we are here for. When we are not so serving there will be a lack of gladness and a feeling of futility. There are some deep choices to be made here. And granted we may not have always kept our chin up when challenged. Know that growing in grace and stature requires an awareness of how we are expressing ourselves. It is important to recognize if our expression is true or not. When it is not it is good to take note and to return in heart to a sense of thankfulness and gratefulness for the gift of life. And  knowing that we are always instantly and completely forgiven for any lack of true expression. We must  receive that forgiveness in our own hearts and move on with our living along with seeing what it will take to keep our chin up.

TO DAY IF YE WILL HEAR HIS VOICE… Psalm 95

How well are we in position to hear his voice? This depends on the condition of our hearts and minds. In order to hear his voice we need to provide a setting in our heart and mind to receive his voice. This setting relates to having a heart filled with gratitude for the gift of life that we have no matter what physical condition we may be in and a mind that is consciously aware of keeping our heart in such a state. It has been said our minds are our guardian angels whereby through alertness we recognize in any given moment if we are considering things that fill us with a sense of thankfulness or if we are paying attention to things that fill us with anger and irritation. We do have a choice in the matter. In this way we do choose our experience whether we know it or not. Many times we may be so absorbed in our daily affairs that we become unconscious of the things that really matter and default to the common feelings of shame, fear, hate and greed so typical in human experience. We are here individually and together to set a new precedent which is really  an eternal precedent to provide an influence into the world that brings true worthiness, love, understanding and givingness. As this is done we offer the blessing for are to provide for our worlds.
