“THAT WE MAY APPLY HEARTS UNTO WISDOM”

How this is written in the King James Version of the Bible is: “that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. ” The word “our” is italicized. As it has been recognized these words have been inserted to help with the meaning of the verses, however if we do look at the verse without the this word it does take on a different meaning.

We are here to apply hearts unto wisdom not only our own, but for all we are with. Of course, we have to being doing it for ourselves which then enables us to do if for others.

I find it good to not just take the words in the bible only unto ourselves, but to actually realize the divine commission we have to bless the world.

Let us apply our heart unto wisdom, as we apply the heart’s of those in our world unto wisdom.

AND IN THE HIDDEN THOU SHALT MAKE ME TO KNOW WISDOM

In the hidden thou shalt make me to know wisdom. When we are alone with ourselves there is just us with our thoughts and feelings and physical being. In these times where do we notice our thoughts tends to go?

It is something to realize that we do have a choice in the matter. We can choose to follow after the dictates of the conditioned worldly mind leading to ruminating on the the things that are wrong the things that bring feelings of anger or confusion.

In the hidden thou shalt make me to know wisdom. If we remember this when we are alone with ourselves that the LORD continually calls for us to know His wisdom it will serve to wake us up from following the dictates of world influences of hate and fear  and shame and greed. Here we can choose to lift our heads in thanks and praise in recieving the wisdom of the LORD into our hearts and minds.

Let’s simply upright ourselves  in the hidden. Here we can know the wisdom of the LORD  extending  His visible influences into the world.

SURELY HE SHALL DELIVER THEE FROM THE SNARE OF THE FOWLER

There is much to consider here for grace and stature to be known in our experience. A fowler is cited  as one who traps unsuspecting birds. The snare of the fowler in reference to  this psalm verse gives light to encouraging us to be aware of being entrapped by our own thoughts or the thoughts of others that cause us to feel small, confused, discouraged, angry, ineffective, wanting etc. Basically, the thoughts of the world that call to make us feel ashamed, fearful, hateful and greedy. How not to be entrapped or ensnared by them is a vital consideration and can take many forms that are unique to each of us.

One way I have been finding helpful is to keep in mind the words welcome and cherish. Here is what I mean. Whenever something arises that causes an unsettled feeling  whether it is when I am alone for with others I intentionally hold an attitude of welcome as soon as I realize what is happening. That something is amiss. Simply taking this attitude allows me to be in the moment which then brings to my awareness, WOW WHAT AN OPPORTUNITY TO BRING SOMETHING OF PEACE AND JOY. Here I affirm in my heart the appreciation and the cherishment for the opportunity I have at hand to grow and more importantly to provide an influence into the world that blesses rather than curses.

I further think to CHERISH THE PROCESS. Here I know sometimes things take a little time where the realization of what to do or how to master this situation is not readily apparent. There has to be a patience with it even though it may feel very uncomfortable and let alone a challenge to actually cherish this process. However just positioning my soul in such a way I find allows for something to happen that does bring a realization of what is required step by step or completely.

I wish to share this with you all in the light also of being mindful when we are being ensnared by our own thoughts or the thoughts of this world and how to remain free that brings an experience of a pure heart, loving spirit, understanding mind and giving actions.

IN SALEM ALSO IS HIS TABERNACLE…

The word “Salem”can also be translated as ‘peaceful’ or ‘peace.’  “In peace also is his tabernacle…”  As we gain a greater understanding of what is said through the words of the psalms and the whole bible we can see more how they apply. Here in this verse we can gain a greater appreciation for the presence of peace in the vast expanse of what is meant by  ‘his tabernacle.’ Even in the largeness of what is termed as a tabernacle great peace can be found. May we apply this to the tabernacle that surrounds our circumstances as well as our world.

O BLESS OUR GOD, YE PEOPLE…WHICH HOLDETH OUR SOUL IN LIFE

When times get challenging this is good to remember as well as  all our times. I find it is good to know that putting our orientation first in blessing our God allows us to know the blessings that are given to us in hard and in easy times. Our orientation matters. How we handle or are in position to handle what comes along really is dependent on what we have been orientated to all along. If we find that we handle certain situations well or if we recognize times we did not handle well it is good to see where are orientation was prior to the occurrence. I like considering the story in the bible about putting oil in our lamps. If we do not take the time to put oil in our lamps by considering the things of God and how that relates to the choices we make in our living especially in regards to our faith and focus we will not be in the right position. It also relates very much to our choices regarding our food, fitness and friendships. As we do put oil in our lamps we will have  the means to see what is the right way to handle our moments as well as step in the right paths. Yes bless our God which holdeth our soul in life.

RECEIVE THE BLESSING FROM THE LORD

The blessings of the Lord are constantly being given to us. It is how we position ourselves that allows us to receive the blessings. Positioning ourselves relates an attitude or a “turning to the Lord.” When we turn to the Lord we are to have an attitude of reverence, humility and an openness  that allows for the Lord to come into our hearts and minds. As we position ourselves in a right way we will know it. We will know an infilling as we keep a clear tranquil respectful space before  the Lord. Simply by articulating words with care and respect for the Lord to the Lord we will create a space for the Lord to come and be received into our hearts and minds. As we do this we will know that we are receiving the blessings of the Lord. It is not a complicated thing and is readily available for those who turn rightly in reverence and respect.

THE FEAR OF THE LORD IS CLEAN, ENDURING FOREVER

Fear in reference to the Lord can be viewed as honor and reverence. As we honor and revere the Lord in our highest sensing we can know the clean freshness of being with the Lord. This is our choice. If instead we default to bowing down before the void described as the prince of this world we will consequently know a muddy and putrid experience that no shower can ever clean. Bowing down to being depressed or discouraged by what is lacking in our worlds is sign we are defaulting. Giving thanks for what is present in our lives is lifting up our heads and giving honor and reverence to that which encourages and blesses. Again the choice is ours.

I WAS ALSO UPRIGHT BEFORE HIM, AND I KEPT MYSELF FROM MINE INIQUITY

As we stay upright we can act with wisdom knowing what is right and what is wrong. Here we can see things that may arise in ourselves that are of impropriety. And we can see it for the unworthiness that it is and choose rightly. Each us of is in the world to make straight the paths of the Lord. How that is done first is through ourselves without the need to point any fingers.
