I COMMUNE WITH MINE OWN HEART: AND MY SPIRIT MADE DILIGENT SEARCH

This verse is found in psalm 77 and it starts with a word about considering “the days of old, the years of ancient times.” As a note to this meditation these words got me thinking that if and when these words were written and to us I gather we think that when the psalms were written they were the ancient times. However, if back then when this psalm was written and the psalmist was referring to ancient times  then when would they be referring to? This brought to mind the time referred to as the Garden of Eden before the fall of man. As it is referenced later in this psalm by the words “the years of the right hand of the most high.” The time when divine order actually reigned on earth. I found as this dawned in my awareness I have been  intrigued how spiritual discoveries are found in the light of the words, “I commune with my own heart: and my spirit made diligent search.”

I have been further drawn to consider the words “and my spirit made diligent search.” I have found as I meditate on these words they bring a greater sense of centering. I can see more clearly the spirits that present before my awareness in terms of seeing if they are destructive or constructive. From this awareness it has been easier to make more consistent choices to be aligned with that which increases the Name of the Lord on earth. Here are the essences and key to waxing strong in grace and stature.

IN SALEM ALSO IS HIS TABERNACLE…

The word “Salem”can also be translated as ‘peaceful’ or ‘peace.’  “In peace also is his tabernacle…”  As we gain a greater understanding of what is said through the words of the psalms and the whole bible we can see more how they apply. Here in this verse we can gain a greater appreciation for the presence of peace in the vast expanse of what is meant by  ‘his tabernacle.’ Even in the largeness of what is termed as a tabernacle great peace can be found. May we apply this to the tabernacle that surrounds our circumstances as well as our world.

HIS NAME SHALL ENDURE FOR EVER: HIS NAME SHALL BE CONTINUED AS LONG AS THE SUN…ALL NATIONS SHALL CALL HIM BLESSED…AND BLESSED HIS GLORIOUS NAME FOREVER…AMEN, AND AMEN

This time of the year brings a crescendo in the air. As I came across these words I thought they clothed this feeling well. I trust you may share the same exhilaration. May we enjoy this week in the spirit of these words. Let’s look beyond our perceptions of the “baby Jesus,” and even the form of the man communing in spirit with the glorious Spirit of the Lord! Let’s open to the myriad of ways  to so commune knowing the SOMETHING MORE in this life.

HE SHALL REDEEM THEIR SOUL FROM DECIET AND VIOLENCE AND PRECIOUS SHALL THEIR BLOOD BE IN HIS EYES

Come to rest in these words and know that you are well loved. As we do begin and continue to know the reality of these words that which would deceive and be violent is put aside from our lives. We become more self aware of where our conscious orientation is to be. Granted, in the world we live in we recognize deception and violence on large and small levels. It is not that we don’t see these elements it is more that we place our conscious orientation where it is to be. As we do acknowledge the words “precious shall their blood be in his eyes” we also begin to see something more. The more is that we begin to and increasingly hold others precious in our eyes. We actually extend the reality of the spirit of these words in our living. Here we know a union in spirit with the truth of ourselves and realize more and more the blessings we can extend into the world with those we are closely with and to the greater world.

Yesterday I attended the Christmas Concert at Atlanta Symphony Hall with some of my close family members and a good friend. My verse that I had been meditating on was “precious shall  their blood be in his eyes.” As I found myself considering this I knew more in experience holding those I was with precious in my eyes. Serendipity would have it though that as I was listening to the beautiful music and song and gazing upon the audience before me especially since we were sitting in the  back row the thought and experience struck me about holding all in the room precious in my eyes. Such realization opened even more within me how each of us as individuals can offer such a large influence into the world. The Lord’s influence is to encompass the whole earth and we are here to extend it through ourselves.

MY LIPS SHALL GREATLY REJOICE WHEN I SING UNTO THEE; AND MY SOUL WHICH THOU HAST REDEEMED

As we sing unto the Lord we find the place of rejoicing and redemption. As we orient our attention accordingly what may have seemed dark and troublesome is vanished. How do we do this? We do this by turning our attention to the spirit of the Lord that we acknowledge. As we turn accordingly we actually find ourselves. We find that we are naturally full of joy and rejoicing. To abide in this place takes a remembrance. Also it takes a willingness to be filled full by turning our responsive attention away from the things that divert us from our  natural rejoicing state. As we keep our responsive attention to that which we know is true of the Lord we will know rejoicing and redemption for ourselves and in turn providing it for all in our world. Let us so be blessed and be a blessing.

I WILL GO IN THE STRENGTH OF THE LORD GOD…

Going in the strength of the Lord God requires first a pausing to step in such a way. Yes, we may have plans that we want to get to, however without entering first into the way and strength of the Lord we will find that we go from one thing to another without feeling a sense of accomplishment or peace. In such a way we are on the treadmill that really goes nowhere. To enter into the strength of the Lord requires a letting go. A letting go that allows us to come into the moment at hand whereby the pulls of trying to get things done are put aside.  Here a space is provided to come into union with that which is animating everything.  As we just take such a moment  we step into the place of eternity whereby we can discern the steps to be taken that allow for a sequence that is joyful and fulfilling. As we move accordingly we also find we are in accord with the Lord God as well as all those so inclined. Here again we find our fulfilling place in the Camp of the Saints.

…AND THEY THAT LOVE HIS NAME SHALL DWELL THEREIN. #2

I find this verse to be a heart catcher especially. I do notice I had talked about this verse last week. When I read it again in my considerations of the psalms I was again struck by the nature of its spirit. AND THEY THAT LOVE HIS NAME SHALL DWELL THEREIN. In considering these words I find myself entering into a spirit that is settling and very peaceful. A spirit that puts everything in perspective especially the things that may have been a challenge for us to handle. As we enter into this spirit the things we may have found ourselves reacting to or engendering the feelings of anger, demand and fear are dissipated. To acknowledge the gift of spirit that these words bring I find are worth repeating and considering. May we continue to wax strong in grace in stature as we abide in this love.

…AND THEY THAT LOVE HIS NAME SHALL DWELL THEREIN

And they that love his name shall dwell therein. I find just the thought of loving his name brings a dwelling place in experience that sets all things right. When the thoughts of this world come knocking on our door characterized by contempt, criticism and fear it is vital to recognize them. As we do recognize the unkind and unsettling thoughts that are looking to find a dwelling place within us we are reminded to love his name. As we do receive this gift of  awareness and actually turn to love his name we find that we are back in our natural place of dwelling. In this natural place there comes the experience of peace and soundness and again perspective. No matter how things in the world appear it is also vital that there be some that abide in this place. For it is us that acknowledge this need true need that this world may eventually find its resting place in loving His Name.

CONFIRM THINE INHERITANCE

When we upright ourselves we confirm our God given divine inheritance. When we put first things first and throughout all we confirm our inheritance. When we honor that which brings peace to our heart and clarity to our mind we confirm our inheritance. Our inheritance is constantly being given to us to be received as a gift and confirmed in our living. Choose this day to confirm your real and true inheritance and know the joy of living!

MY KING IN THE SANCTUARY

Consider these words and know the presence of our King. Know the peace of His presence and begin to touch into His power. Know the fertile quietness. As we do increasingly acknowledge  the beauty and wonder of the presence of the King in the sanctuary we find ourselves also in the sanctuary. Here is our communion in spirit and our communion in love. Here is the gift of knowing what is true in spirit, mind and body. Give thanks and continue to know.
