What powerful words. To declare the works of the Lord. For there are so many works to declare. Never ending. How can we declare the works of the Lord? Being kind to others, appreciating the beauty of nature, expressing words that are true to the nature of the Lord. There are never ending ways to so declare. Let us be about the business of declaring the works of the Lord.
RETURN UNTO THY REST, O MY SOUL
Can you receive these words into your heart? Can you hear them and come to rest. These are words given to us my our Lord calling us to simply come to rest. Yes we do have things to do and at the same time can we be at rest in our soul. At rest allowing the currents of life that come from the Lord to fill our soul. Here we do come to rest. As we do so we are naturally filled with thanksgiving.
HIS PRAISE ENDURETH FOREVER
There is a song that sings forever. That song is a song of praise to the Lord that is sung by all human being innately. When we appreciate the beautiful things in nature we are singing this song. When we give thanks for the people in our life we are singing this song. Singing this song as it applies to our world allow us to be whole inside and out.
THE WORKS OF THE LORD SOUGHT OUT OF ALL THEM THAT HAVE PLEASURE THEREIN
It is good to see the works of the LORD that are abundantly provided. Provided through nature, through children and adults and even through science. As we do look for such works we are indeed gifted with pleasure.
THOU HAST THE DEW OF THY YOUTH
As we oriented in the right way we have the dew of our youth. We feel a perpetual youthfulness. Remember it is the responsibility of our conscious mind to keep our heart oriented in the right way. As we remember to keep a thankful heart and an alert mind to the things of God the things that are characterized by the nature of God we will find the dew of our youth. And such a joy it is.
I WILL AWAKE EARLY…
As this is stated in the Psalms it gives understanding to what is to come first in our lives. What is it to awake early? Does it only mean to wake up early in the morning or does it mean to awake early to an awareness that puts the presence of God first. Awaking early relates to putting priority on the things that matter in any given moment. Awaking early relates to putting attention to first things first. First things that are received through an open and thankful heart and an alert mind to the qualities and characteristics of the presence of God in any given moment. When we are oriented to awake early in such a way we find we are filled with the inspiration and wisdom necessary for our living to be true and effective for increasing the dominion of God on earth.
I WILL SING PRAISE TO MY GOD WHILE I HAVE MY BEING
Singing praise to our God while we have our being says a lot. How may we do this in our living? For one acknowledging the presence of God made evidence in all of nature. If you really acknowledge the majesty of God in all the living world it floods us with a sense of awe and invigoration. Why not sing praise to our God in all the living world that we see? Our life and joy depends on it.
HE MAKETH HIS MINISTERS A FLAMING FIRE
What words to live by! To identify ourselves as a minister of the Lord as a flaming fire. A flaming fire given to us as a gift for those willing to minister is a gift indeed. Let us use this fire to increase the influence of the Lord on earth.
FORGET NOT ALL HIS BENEFITS:
There are many things to be grateful for most of which relate to all that God has given us. For without the life of God none of us would be here. Here is a great starting point for us to remember for there are so many benefits that come from God. Just having a starting point in our consciousness that all life comes from God including our own sets the state for our hearts to be opened to the greater flow of what God would give to and through us. Yes there is much to be grateful that springs from this one point.
HARKENING TO THE VOICE OF HIS WORD
How do we harken to the voice of His word. By listening with an open heart and mind even though there may be a sense of resistance within oneself. How to we hear the voice by listening to what is said to us through other people who have our best interests at heart. Here again we may resist what a friend may be advising us. However recognizing the resistance in oneself is part of the process and in of itself is not to be resisted or fought against. As we simply come to rest with a situation letting patience give the necessary time to decipher thorough a circumstance we find that we can hear the voice of the Lord with a sense of gratitude for making a wise path through a experience that may have been a repetitive one. Finally as we harken to the voice of His word through hearing the words of our real friends we come to a new experience of living letting go of the destructive repetitive tendencies in ourselves from trying to get our own way to knowing the way that brings soundness and joy.
